Cosmetic Surgeries Dr. Neal
provides. Some can often be performed in conjunction
with these surgical procedures resulting in overall lower
costs.
Functional Endoscopic Sinus Surgery
Sinus surgery proves beneficial for many, explaining why Dr.
Neal has performed over 2,700 of them since 1987. Sinus
surgery can alleviate or eliminate several irritating and
sometimes debilitating symptoms, many of which have plagued
patients for a lifetime! These symptoms include
excruciating sinus headaches, chronic bad breath,
inability to breathe out one’s nose, chronic
post-nasal drip, nasal tone when speaking, poor sense of
smell, consistently plugged sinuses, chronic sinusitis,
nasal polyps, and many others. The procedure is
performed endoscopically (with the use of small tools that
minimize cutting and trauma to skin) under general
anesthesia in an outpatient setting, thereby reducing
recovery time dramatically. There is normally no bruising
and Dr. Neal routinely avoids nasal packing. Most of his
patients say the pain and discomfort from this procedure is
usually less than the sinus headaches they are used to.
Middle Ear Surgery
Middle Ear
Surgery has several related procedures which can repair
broken ear drums and/or the hearing bones (hammer,
anvil, and stirrup), remove chronic infection
or inflammatory disease of the mastoid cavity, or
insert PE (pressure equalizing) tubes in the eardrum to
allow trapped fluid to escape and improve hearing.
Snoring Surgery (Uvulopalatoplasty)
Have problems sleeping due to snoring or the snoring
of your partner? This surgery can help eliminate the causes
of snoring resulting in more restful nights.
Functional Nasal Surgery (Septoplasty/Turbinoplasty)
Functional Nasal
Surgery is a two part surgery resulting in better nasal
breathing. A Septoplasty straightens and centers the
nasal septum, the partition between the two
nasal
cavities, which, if crooked, can impede air flow
through one nostril. Often when this has happened, the
turbinate, a bone inside the nose, on the opposite side will
enlarge. A turbinoplasty reduces the enlargement, allowing
better air flow through the nose.
Salivary Gland Excision
Salivary Glad
Excision is done for salivary stones, chronic
infection or apparent neoplasm.
Excision of Tonsils (Tonsillectomy)
A tonsillectomy
can alleviate or eliminate conditions such as chronic
tonsillitis (foul material collecting in tonsillar
crypts causing chronic bad breath), acute
tonsillitis (characterized by high fever, recurrent
antibiotic use, or history of strep throat),
obstructive sleep apnea, nasal
airway obstruction,
snoring, and
peritonsillar abscess (collection of pus next
to the tonsil) through the removal of the tonsils.
Excision of Adenoids (Adenoidectomy)
An adenoidectomy
is the
surgical removal of the lymphoid tissue related
to tonsils which sits in the very back of the nose where it
becomes the throat. They may be removed for several
reasons, including impaired breathing through the nose
in children and chronic ear infections, because
it blocks the Eustachian tube openings in the back of the
nose.
